I don't know if this is tacky, but have you tried giving the K bit some perspective so it goes behind the I? Something along these lines:

LostInCake: keep in mind that in black and white the gradients will not be there to create a perspective effect. You could need to add a white border where there is overlap to show what is over and under.

Haha, that's quite funny to see that in use. They modified the start "o" interestingly enough. [[User:JoeLackner|JoeLackner]] 22:28, 4 December 2010 (CET)

Finalist logo discussion and feedback

Joe Lackner's concept

I've simplified and refined the mark, started throwing in some color (staying within the purple theme that Microsoft introduced) and some icon prototypes. I'd love to hear your thoughts on these revisions for another pass...

I captured these two suggestions from the mailing list discussion:

I think this logo basically just needed to be simplified at tad bit. The logo part of it is all that we really need and should be advertised as such. The text can be added in places like a website etc where the logo might need to be explained. http://clients.junketdesign.com/openkinect/logos/logo_openkinect-02.png <--- just keep the swirly logo bit. --LostInCake 06:03, 29 November 2010 (CET)
